Any Old Iron
Drawing inspiration from the mountains of old magzines, furniture and kitchen appliances in my Grandma's attic, these recognisable forms aim to be a celebration of everyday objects. Bringing together imagery and surface texture inspired by their surroundings, each piece is handbuilt using clay slabs.
Inspired by the classic 'rubber duck' these ducks are textured by hand, then press molded in to shape. A combination of oxides, enamel transfers and glazes are used to decorate.
Made out of one slab of clay, contrasting cut edges against torn edges, glazed areas against unglazed areas.
Aint Milk Brilliant!
Press molded milk bottles. Surface textures and imagery inspired by old adverts, typography and wallpaper prints.
